Increase your no decompression limits with the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 40% Course
Dive differently, more safely, for longer, and reduce your surface interval times. If those claims sound too good to be true, you need to enroll in the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox course! Of all the advances in recreational diving, perhaps none is as far-reaching and game-changing as the introduction of Enriched Air Nitrox.
What is Enriched Air Nitrox?
Enriched Air Nitrox, EANx, Nitrox, Enriched Air, generally these terms are all used interchangeably by divers. Nitrox is a special blend of air where the oxygen content is higher than the 21% we find in regular compressed air. This reduces the amount of nitrogen in the mix, and therefore extends our no decompression limits. But it's vitally important to understand the restrictions placed on a diver, because once we start to use a higher percentage of oxygen we are put at greater risk.
The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox specialty will teach you about those risks and considerations when using nitrox.
Oceanic Dive Center will supply you with all the knowledge to become an enriched air diver!

What's involved in the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox course?
During the course we will cover the following topics:
- Understanding the composition and use of nitrox
- How your body is affected by nitrox and the underwater world
- Your total diving system and nitrox
- How to plan your dives on nitrox
The main (and only mandatory) part of the course is the theory. You can choose to cover that online, before you arrive in Phuket, free of charge. Alternatively, you can study the materials under the guidance of your instructor in our classroom at Oceanic.
The dives are optional, and if you choose not to dive on nitrox as part of the course, we have tanks and analysers available for you to practice analysing your tank, an essential part of every dive on nitrox.
