The June Hong Chiang Lee, affectionately known by all who know her as 'The Junk Liveaboard' is a traditional Malaysian-built Chinese Junk. Used as part of the Chinese merchant fleet until 1985, she also enjoyed a brief stint as a film star in The Man With the Golden Gun, 1974. She was then transformed into the most recognisable liveaboard in the Similan Islands: The Junk Liveaboard.
There are 2 private double cabins aboard, as well as 2 triples and two quads. All have individual air-con and private bathrooms.
The Junk liveaboard has been completely refurbished to provide her guests with en-suite cabins, lots of on-deck relaxation space, a large air-conditioned saloon to cool off in and a sun deck where many guests like to sleep under the stars. She also has a huge amount of space for kitting up for dives, and wonderful crew who will take care of you and your gear between dives.
She has a well deserved reputation for serving the best food in the Andaman Sea - European and Thai cuisine - and it's not uncommon for divers to leave the Junk liveaboard a few kilos heavier than when they arrived!
For diving, there are two large tenders (ribs) that take you directly to the perfect dive site entry point, and pick you up on completion of the dive.
And on the spacious dive deck you get the chance to top up your tan between dives. You can even get a Thai massage upon request.
