Richelieu Rock
Richelieu Rock, is a small submerged rock about 18 kilometers east of Surin Islands and
is one of the best places in the world for sightings of the whale shark.
Encounters with these fish are rare almost anyplace in the world but here
sightings occur 50-70 percent of the time throughout February, March and April
and the visibility is excellent at this time of year as well.
Here you can always find big schools of tuna, barracuda, jackfish and snappers.
There is also a lot of cuttle fish on shallow water. You can also encounter
showelnose rays over 3 meters of length, and a lot of other spectacular
species.
