M/V Andaman Queen, Phuket

The stylish and comfortable Andaman Queen started operating in November 2003 and was refurbished in 2012. At 28m in length, she is one of the larger liveaboards operating in the Similans. All cruises depart from Thap Lamu, with free transfers by minibus available from Phuket or Khao Lak.

Andman Queen has several cabin types to suit every diver - Standard bunks in twin, triple or quad share (on the lower deck), VIP twins/doubles and one of the best Master cabins in the Andaman Sea. All cabins have private bathrooms with hot water, and are all air-conditioned. There is one twin, one triple and one quad standard bunk cabin. All VIP cabins are double bed which makes this a great boat for couples. The Master cabin is one of the largest around and has private TV/DVD. Master and VIP cabins are on the main deck, with ocean view windows.

 

The dive deck is possibly the largest on any Similan liveaboard giving plenty of room for suiting up for your dives. Also 2x4m RIBs (tender) help with pick ups after the dives. After your dives, catch the rays on the huge sun deck on top of the boat.

The indoor salon is air conditioned and is equipped with TV, DVD and entertainment centre. There are power points in all cabins and the salon for charging batteries, cameras and computers. Food will be Thai with some Western dishes, all served buffet style.

Oceanic Branches out after Thirteen Years as a PADI 5* IDC Center

After thirteen years as a PADI Five Star IDC Centre, we want to offer our divers more. Within the PADI accreditation system, five star status is the highest accolade for dive centres, and we're proud to have met the critera every year since 1999. Now we want to give our divers more choice and so we have decided to become a Multiple-Agency Diver Training Centre offering SSI as well as PADI. Our excellent Five Star facilities are still the same, and so are our excellent Five Star instructors, and Five Star rental equipment, but now you have the choice of which Diver Certification you prefer to hold. With SSI growing year on year, and recognised worldwide in all the places PADI have reached, and more, we're proud to become their newest member, and offer our members more choice.

Book early for your 2013-2014 Similans Trip

The Similans are closed again until November, and now is the time to start planning your next trip. The last season was our busiest yet and most of the boats were booked up well in advance with just one or two spaces left within a month or more of departure. On some of the boats, we're able to offer Early Bird Booking Discounts, but on any boat it's a good idea to get your places reserved early. Hin Daeng, Hin Muang & Koh Ha... superstar dive sites!

Sometimes it seems all the attention in the diving community of Phuket is on the world-famous Similans, so these other treasures of the Andaman are often overlooked. Just a bit too far for a daytrip, Hin Daeng (Red Rock) and Hin Muang (Purple Rock) are described in more detail at this link and we visit them on shorter 2, 3 or 4 night liveaboard trips which will also visit the enchanting islands Koh Ha and Phi Phi and the ever popular Shark Point. On previous trips the divers were treated to whalesharks, mantas, mobulas, seahorses, ornate ghostpipefish and many more fabulous surprises. These trips run throughout the year, so even when the Similans closes for the low season in May, you can still get in some wonderful diving and experience the convenience and camaraderie of life on board a liveaboard dive boat.

Half-day and Day Trips for diving and snorkling around Phuket every day.

Now the conditions on Phuket's Western beaches are fabulous for divers, snorkelers and swimmers. If you're short on time then join us for a beach dive in the morning or afternoon. All of the daytrip dive sites are getting better and better every day. If you like to be out on the open ocean, the conditions are always superb at our popular diving and snorkelling sites at Racha Yai. Snorkellers and divers of all abilities will find what they're looking for diving at Phi Phi too. For divers with a little more experience, our daily trips out to King Cruiser Wreck, will astound you with the number and varieties of schooling fish around the wreck.

Please do be aware, though, that not every day can offer perfect conditions for your daytrip. Even in our "Dry" Season the weather can change and on days when the wind blows the sea can get a little rough and uncomfortable. So don't take any chances, take advantage of our reputation as "the friendliest dive center in town"! We know your time is precious when you only get a few days' holiday each year and if you've never dived before and want to get your licence it can seem like a big chunk out of your holiday to take the full Open Water course.
