Phi Phi Islands

Depth: around 10 - 30 meters Turtle
© 2003 Steve Rubin
Visibility: around 25 meters
Sea Life: Black tip reef sharks, Leopard Sharks, turtles, plentiful soft corals, sea fans and anemones.
Special: Many overhangs, swim-throughs and caves. Beautiful surroundings!

We arrange both day trips and overnight trips to Phi Phi Islands. The Phi Phi Islands and their two small outcrops, the Bida Islands are among the most renowned dive destinations around Phuket and famous for their abundance of leopard sharks and diversity of marine life, including turtles, sea snakes, clown fish and file fish as well as plentiful hard and soft corals. Lot of different kinds of fish

There are many overhangs, and swim-throughs to explore and even some caves that penetrate, in some cases, as far as 100 meters into the rocks.

Besides the world class diving there are also many superb areas for snorkelling with shallow coral gardens on the fringing reefs which are alive with colourful fish. Phi Phi Ley Bay Pee Pee Ley

Koh Phi Phi has become known the world over as one of the most stunning settings in Southeast Asia and the location was chosen for the movie "The Beach".

The currents here are generally mild, maximum depths are around 30 meters and the visibility is often in excess of 25 meters so it is suitable for divers of all capabilities.

Welcome to our latest Divemaster Trainee

We'd like to extend a warm welcome Line H. R. Andersen, seen here about to enter the water during her PADI Rescue Diver course in August with her instructor Keith Douglas.

Line (pronounced Lena) comes from Denmark and plans to join the Danish Navy next year. In the meantime, she's embarking on her Divemaster course with us at Oceanic and intends to stay with us for the coming high season to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

We wish you luck Line, and hope you feel at home in Phuket!

Day Trips for diving and snorkling around Phuket every day.

Just because the Similan Islands have closed for their annual rest period there's no reason to think you can't get some great dives in. Our local dive sites are getting better and better now: Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck, Koh Dok Mai, Phi Phi, and Anemone Reef are all boasting fewer divers and therefore more fish. Our resident blacktip sharks are back at Bida Nai (near Koh Phi Phi) after their long winter holidays and some lucky divers saw a manta ray at Racha Yai at the end of August. To book your dive trip or for more information, contact us through info@oceanicdivecenter.com
