Koh Doc Mai (Flower Island)

Depth:	10-25 meters
Visibility:	between 20 and 40 m
Special:	Wall diving, caves, colorful sea life, suitable dive for all levels. Look very hard into the wall & see many small critters

This small, jungle topped island lies halfway between Shark Point and Phuket. It provides some of the best wall diving in the area with sea fans, soft corals and colourful sea life decorating its underwater cliffs and it is possible to swim the whole way round during a dive.

The maximum depth is 25m so it is a great dive suitable for all levels of experience and it also has a lot of caves to look into.

Welcome to our latest Divemaster Trainee

We'd like to extend a warm welcome Line H. R. Andersen, seen here about to enter the water during her PADI Rescue Diver course in August with her instructor Keith Douglas.

Line (pronounced Lena) comes from Denmark and plans to join the Danish Navy next year. In the meantime, she's embarking on her Divemaster course with us at Oceanic and intends to stay with us for the coming high season to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Just because the Similan Islands have closed for their annual rest period there's no reason to think you can't get some great dives in. Our local dive sites are getting better and better now: Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck, Koh Dok Mai, Phi Phi, and Anemone Reef are all boasting fewer divers and therefore more fish. Our resident blacktip sharks are back at Bida Nai (near Koh Phi Phi) after their long winter holidays and some lucky divers saw a manta ray at Racha Yai at the end of August.
