Dive sites around Phuket day trip
Anemone reef
Anemone Reef or Hin Jom (Submerged Rock) is an underwater rock 600 meters to the North of Hin Musang (Shark Point). A large pinnacle, it drops off dramatically from its top at 5m, carpeted with abundant magnificent anemones, to a depth of between 20 and 27 meters. In amongst the numerous gorgonian fans and soft corals we find all sorts of nudibranchs, shrimp, eels and pipefish. We've even seen the elusive mimic octopus here. Fish life is abundant and leopard sharks are often seen, sometimes even swimming at the top of the rock in six meters of water. On occasions when the water becomes so clear that you can see the bottom from the surface, diving here is exceptional. The conditions though are hard to predict. There are also occasional strong currents, making this location an intermediate to advanced level dive site.
