PADI IDC Staff Instructor Phuket

This is a course for instructors that have been teaching for a while and want to develop their knowledge as a dive professional and have the possibility to educate Assistant Instructor students.

The course starts two days before the IDC, and you will go through all aspects of evaluation (academics, confined & open water) as well as refresh your memory on the 18 skills, micro and prescriptive teaching and presentation techniques. After that you will assist on the entire IDC and evaluate the candidates. The Course Director will then assess your performance.

After completion of the IDC Staff Instructor course you will be able to certify Assistant Instructors and when you staff your next IDC you will have your own presentations. It is a prerequisite towards the Master Instructor rating with the ambition to perhaps one day becoming a Course Director.

Welcome to our latest Divemaster Trainee

We'd like to extend a warm welcome Line H. R. Andersen, seen here about to enter the water during her PADI Rescue Diver course in August with her instructor Keith Douglas.

 

Line (pronounced Lena) comes from Denmark and plans to join the Danish Navy next year. In the meantime, she's embarking on her Divemaster course with us at Oceanic and intends to stay with us for the coming high season to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

We wish you luck Line, and hope you feel at home in Phuket!

  

 

Day Trips for diving and snorkling around Phuket every day.

Just because the Similan Islands have closed for their annual rest period there's no reason to think you can't get some great dives in. Our local dive sites are getting better and better now: Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck, Koh Dok Mai, Phi Phi, and Anemone Reef are all boasting fewer divers and therefore more fish. Our resident blacktip sharks are back at Bida Nai (near Koh Phi Phi) after their long winter holidays and some lucky divers saw a manta ray at Racha Yai at the end of August.
