INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSES PHUKETPADI IDC Instructor Development CourseThis is the full program to become a PADI Instructor. It takes nine to ten days to complete and consists of many different presentations from your Course Director and experienced IDC Staff Instructors as well as practical training and candidate presentations in the classroom, pool and open water.During the IDC the candidate learns about the PADI system of education, PADI standards and procedures and how to conduct their own courses from Discover Scuba, Open Water Diver through to Divemaster. When the candidate does their own presentation, the Course Director and the Staff Instructors are ready with advice and help on how to improve both in the classroom and in the water. The candidate also will be taught how to do skills of demonstration quality and will be trained in the five theory topics where improvement is needed. After the IDC the candidate can be certified as an Assistant Instructor and is ready to attend an Instructor Examination (IE). During the IDC the candidate is being trained to be a professional diving educator within the PADI system with the IE being a step to a new career as a PADI Instructor. The last four to five days of the IDC is the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. If you are an instructor from another organisation and wish to do a crossover, you can participate in the OWSI program only. From there you can then participate in an Instructor Examination (IE) and become a PADI instructor.
